WoW Upgrades - The item upgrades Upgrader

Upgrades will give you a an increase in specific stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also added to every upgrade.

The upgraded gear is usually more valuable, unless the Best item upgrade is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or a high stat variance (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as valuable for those with higher variance due to the need to roll the perfect version.

Recycle Points

The item upgrader lets players upgrade their gear by giving the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item upgrader mod used to upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and cannot be used again. Upgrades can be applied to enchantments.

The upgrader can be found in all major cities, and can be visited anytime to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date it is recommended you visit the upgrader each couple of weeks.

The cost of upgrading will vary based on the current item upgrade level of the item upgrader kit being upgraded however, they will always be cheaper than buying new equipment from other sources. For example, upgrading a chest piece from Benthic to ilvl 385 will cost 20 recycle points, while buying a similar item from another player will cost 105.

Valorstones

Upgrades are items which can be used to improve the quality of weapons and tools, armor and other accessories. They are purchased by players through NPCs who sell upgrades for items in exchange for various currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade is able to be applied to any weapon, tool or armor. button, which will display an image of the item Level Upgrade at the next upgrade level if the player has sufficient materials.

The cost of upgrading varies based on the item slot, and the current level of the item. For instance weapons cost more than gloves, bracers or bracers. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones plus a set number of crests. Some upgrades offer a discount on the Flightstones. Once an item is upgraded to a certain amount it is able to be downgraded and sold to the upgrader at a lower cost.

Many locations have upgraders for their items, including the main Island and some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade discount and the chance to acquire a new upgrade recipe. The upgrade discount increases as more items are upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete certain achievements or quests.

Icewind Dale does not have an upgrader for items at the start unlike Cromwell from Baldur's Gate II. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement and a drawback.

In Season 3, the upgrade system was altered a bit, with some new features added. After an upgrade has been completed to a certain item level for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same level will cost less. This is true even if the items are from a different set of gear.

The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests needed to upgrade is also reduced and is not available until players have reached certain achievement milestones.

Crests

When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW, players have a couple of options. Flightstones are an option that is accessible to all players for upgrading. Crests are more special, and are used during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an integral element of the Dragonflight Gear Progression System introduced in version 10.1. They come in four ranks.

First, you should know that crests are only available for gear that is of a particular rank. Each rank comes with distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and most straightforward upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one can require as much as 20 crests depending on the type of gear being upgraded.

Players can obtain crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities for lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons with all difficulty for items of higher tier, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses to obtain endgame gear. These crests are then exchanged with an upgrader, such as Cuzolth or Vaskarn in Valdrakken for the appropriate upgrade steps and routes.

The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, but it brings some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic) it will no longer require Flightstones to be upgraded. This allows players to upgrade their equipment to the highest level possible on all of their characters rather than relying on seasonal loot.

Another notable change is that crests only have one use, so it's important to use them wisely. For instance it's a good idea utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the top equipment you have, and then save Drake and Wyrm crests to use for the next set of upgrades you plan on making. This is particularly applicable to items like trinkets and rings that fill multiple slots. The discount for the entire account is only applicable when all slots on the character are filled with top-quality equipment.
